My mother's days keep getting better! My kids are 2.5 and this year they kind of "got it." The best thing, by far and away, was hearing them say over and over, "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" Last year they weren't talking, so this melted my heart. And to top it off, my dad surpised all the moms in the family with a family vacation to Maui over Christmas!!

This year was my first mother's day. My husband was very sweet about the whole thing. He woke up with the baby and let me sleep a little later (not much though, I wanted to get up already). My daughter "got" me a book that we could read together and I thought that was a perfect gift. In the afternoon we went to a cookout with my husband's family who lives close by. Overall it was a nice day and it felt good to be recognized for the day. Now I'm gearing up to make Father's day fun and special!
ReplyDeleteThis was my first Mother's Day, and the best part was my son took a long nap and my hubby let me take a long one too!
ReplyDeleteIt was the first time that we decided to stay home with our 2 kiddos, instead of driving all over the state to see our own moms. It proved to be absolutely wonderful, as we hung out in our pjs a little longer than normal in the morning & played the day away with the kids. I could not have asked for a better day.

My husband and kids made me breakfast in bed..my five year old joined me. She was so excited to be eating in my bed that I didn't have the heart to kick her out ~ even though we were having pancakes with SYRUP!!! (Luckily, no accidents) With her being the oldest of 3, it was very nice to spend some one on one time with her and chat. After breakfast I spent the rest of the morning in bed reading. Some alone time + special one on one time with my beautiful daughter = a perfect day
